We are excited to be able to offer you the opportunity to attend the opening week of the dazzling multi-award winning DREAMGIRLS at New Wimbledon Theatre! Our friends at the Ambassadors Theatre Group have made FREE tickets available – although you must confirm that you can travel to and from the Theatre on your own, meeting at 7PM, and able to stay for the duration of the performance.
Direct from the West End with an extraordinary story and the unforgettable, spine-tingling vocals that send audiences wild, this spectacular musical production features the classic songs And I Am Telling You I’m Not Going, Listen, I Am Changing and One Night Only.
Meet The Dreams – Effie, Lorrell and Deena – three talented young singers in the turbulent 1960s, a revolutionary time in American music history. Join the three friends as they embark upon a musical rollercoaster ride through a world of fame, fortune and the ruthless realities of show business, testing their friendships to the very limit.
*Nicole Dennis* will play the iconic role of Effie White. Her credits include Dear Evan Hansen, Dreamgirls (West End production) and finalist on ITV’s The Voice in 2019 where she wowed viewers and judges singing And I’m Telling You I’m Not Going with team mentor Jennifer Hudson.

Anne of Green Gables London Children’s Ballet at The Peacock Theatre
Come and join Nova at the ballet, with this unique adaptation of the charming classic, Anne of Green Gables, performed by the UK’s leading children’s ballet company, London Children’s Ballet (LCB).
An 11-year-old orphan, Anne Shirley, is adopted by mistake when an elderly brother and sister ask an orphanage to send them a boy to help on the farm. Instead, Anne arrives. Her wild and wonderful imagination is matched only by her fierce temper, which gets her into hot water with everyone. But Anne’s courage, kindness and loyalty shine through, and the local village are eventually won over by her irrepressible spirit.
Anne of Green Gables has been turned into a ballet for the first time by LCB, and will be performed by a talented company of 50 young dancers, aged 9-16, set to the music of a live orchestra. Hugely popular among family audiences, LCB ballets are told in two 40-minute acts and are perfect for audiences aged 5-14.

Kew Gardens
Join us for a visit to Kew Gardens, London’s largest UNESCO World Heritage Site. Home to the world’s most diverse collection of living plants and a scientific research centre of international renown, it’s the perfect day out. We will also visit the Children’s Garden and follow The Very Hungry Caterpillar’s enchanting trail through the Gardens.
Children’s Garden – A fun, interactive space to climb, run, jump and explore everything that a plant needs to grow
Great Pagoda – Kew’s Pagoda was completed in 1762 as a gift for Princess Augusta, the founder of the Gardens. It was one of several Chinese buildings designed for Kew by Sir William Chambers, who had spent time travelling and studying the architecture of East Asia. A popular ‘folly’ of the age, it offered one of the earliest and finest bird’s eye views of London – which you can enjoy today.

Mud Larking
Want to try London’s coolest new hobby? Mudlarking is the quirky riverside activity that we’re sure you will love – provided you don’t mind getting a little muddy.
Mudlarking is the practice of scavenging through river mud for lost items of value or historical significance. Twice a day, the Thames in London swells with tidal water, and as that great daily gush tumbles through the ancient channel, it tosses up centuries of junk. When that great churn of water departs the city again at low tide, it leaves behind newly exposed treasures that have been lost in time.
Potential finds might range from Celtic times up to modern day – and “everything in between” – as well as fossils that are millions of years old. Join the experts for an organised session and you’ll have the chance to explore two millennia’s worth of history through the everyday objects you’ll find washed up on the riverside.

The Lexi Cinema – The Bad Guys
Nobody has ever failed so hard at trying to be good as THE BAD GUYS. In the new action comedy from DreamWorks Animation, based on the New York Times best-selling book series, a crackerjack criminal crew of animal outlaws are about to attempt their most challenging con yet – becoming model citizens.
Never have there been five friends as infamous as The Bad Guys – dashing pickpocket Mr. Wolf (Academy Award® winner Sam Rockwell), seen-it-all safecracker Mr. Snake (Marc Maron), chill master-of-disguise Mr. Shark (Craig Robinson), short-fused “muscle” Mr. Piranha (Anthony Ramos) and sharp-tongued expert hacker Ms. Tarantula (Awkwafina), aka “Webs.”
But when, after years of countless heists and being the world’s most-wanted villains, the gang is finally caught, Mr. Wolf brokers a deal (that he has no intention of keeping) to save them all from prison: The Bad Guys will go good.
Under the tutelage of their mentor Professor Marmalade (Richard Ayoade), an arrogant (but adorable!) guinea pig, The Bad Guys set out to fool the world that they’ve been transformed. Along the way, though, Mr. Wolf begins to suspect that doing good for real may give him what he’s always secretly longed for: acceptance. So when a new villain threatens the city, can Mr. Wolf persuade the rest of the gang to become … The Good Guys?

The Great Get Together
We’d love for you to join us for our Get Together For Grenfell next week.
Along with communities up and down the country, we run this annual event to bring the local community together, celebrate kindness, respect and all we have in common.
A movement inspired by the late Jo Cox, who was passionate that: “We are far more united and have far more in common than that which divides us.”
For us, June also marks the 5 year anniversary of Grenfell and so this is a time for us to remember those we lost whilst celebrating the strength and resilience of community.
