After School Classes
We were determined that children didn’t fall behind whilst we all dealt with the crisis of Covid-19. In order to further support those we work with, we are still offering after-school classes in maths, science and English.
Who are the classes for?
These sessions are primarily targeted at children in Key Stage 2 (primary) and Key Stage 3 & 4 (secondary Y7, Y8, Y9 & Y10) delivering interactive sessions focused on maths, science and English following their curriculum.
Important
If your child fails to attend 2 times without letting us know in advance, they will lose a place in that class and will have to wait for the next block of classes to start to attend again.
Year Groups & Key Stages
Classes are divided into Key Stage 2 lower (Years 3&4), upper (Years 5&6) & Key Stage 3 Y7, Y8, Y9 and Key Stage 4 Y10. The below programme may change depending on the need. We are now taking block bookings so you can sign up for the block of classes running from 9th September to 19th December 2024.

FURTHER INFORMATION
Family Agreement
While Nova is closed, tutors, facilitators and volunteers will use Zoom, Google Meet or Google Classroom to facilitate activities and one to one learning. As this is a new way of delivering for us, we need to agree to some rules to keep everyone safe.
Please read this together as a family. Your sign up to any activities with Nova New Opportunities indicates you have read, understood and agree with the following:
Communicating online – I Agree to:
- listen to the tutor/volunteer or facilitator carefully
- make sure my parents always know when I am online and make sure my parents are with me in one to one sessions
- be responsible for my own behaviour online
- always be kind and respectful
- join in and have fun!
Sharing Online
I agree to
- keep my passwords safe and not share them with anybody except my parents
- only share photographs and videos of my learning with my teacher, I will never upload any photographs, videos or screenshots of myself or anyone else
- never create screenshots of any person, for any reason
- only visit websites and/or download apps recommended and approved by my parents
If things go wrong I agree to: tell a trusted adult immediately if I am uncomfortable or upset by anything I see or hear online.
For Parents:
- I agree that if I am not present during the activity or visible in the frame that I am still responsible for
my child(ren) during the activity. - I agree, where possible, that my child(ren)will participate in activities not in their bedroom but
shared family spaces such as the kitchen or living room. - I agree that if my child breaks the agreement, they will be issued a strike. If my child gets 3 strikes then they will not be allowed to participate in future online activities with Nova.
