Let’s Talk About Race
Let’s Talk About Race emerged in the immediate aftermath of the murder of George Floyd and the large-scale global civil rights protests that followed. Using a variety of tools, we host public events inviting conversation about race and more specifically, about antiblackness in the UK context. Through our conversation we explore individual and collective viewpoints and actions. The conversation is designed to be a starting point as we seek to understand how we can move from simply not being racist to becoming actively anti-racist - individually and collectively.
“I learnt about the difference between trying to be empathetic and ‘clean listening’. I learnt that it is okay to just listen and give time for listening and that this is what is needed at this time, not feeling the need to jump in with comparisons or ‘things will get better if..’, just giving people space to talk.”

Ladies Who Lunch
Events that bring women from diverse backgrounds together to break bread, converse, connect and laugh.
“I enjoyed meeting you and it was a real joy to hear from ladies across Nova from service users to trustees about the work you are doing day to day for families and individuals. The breakout room was a good opportunity to see how much we have in common and what we can look forward to in 2021. I look forward to meeting again”

Sharing
Learning Lunches
Monthly sessions targeted at those working in the not-for-profit sector to share skills and knowledge together. Previous sessions have included coaching skills for the workplace, presentation skills in our virtual world and writing for well-being in times of uncertainty.
Community
Great Get Together
Along with communities up and down the country, we run this annual event to bring the local community together, celebrate kindness, respect and all we have in common. A movement inspired by the late Jo Cox, who was passionate that: “we are far more united and have far more in common than that which divides us.” Next event June 2022
Supporting
Unsung Heroes
On the 14th June 2017 the fire at Grenfell Tower devastated the community in North Kensington. Through the grief and heartbreak many people turned to helping with whatever means they had.
This project is for those people in the wider community of North Kensington and beyond, to provide opportunities for these unsung heroes, community leaders and future leaders to take time out for themselves, away from the area to grow and draw strength from each other, building new and strong connections.
Participation is by invitation only.
