The Royal Academy of Arts (RA) is an art institution based in Burlington House on Piccadilly in London. Founded in 1768, it has a unique position as an independent, privately funded institution led by eminent artists and architects. Its purpose is to promote the creation, enjoyment and appreciation of the visual arts through exhibitions, education and debate

The current exhibition is the critically acclaimed The Loneliness of the Soul: Tracey Emin / Edvard Munch and this will be the last chance to view this show before it closes in summer

The Loneliness of the Soul: Tracey Emin / Edvard Munch 

She’s been a major figure in contemporary art for over 25 years; he pioneered a radical new style known as Expressionism. This landmark exhibition brings together the work of renowned British artist Tracey Emin RA and the Norwegian Expressionist Edvard Munch, who were born exactly 100 years apart. 

Focusing on themes of grief, loss and longing, the exhibition features around 26 works by Emin, who has long been fascinated and inspired by Munchs work, as well as 18 oil paintings and watercolours by Munch which have been carefully selected from the iconic collection and archives of the Munch Museum in Oslo.
