Art and Disability: Is it resistance or existence?

Join us for a short session to discuss the relationship between art and disability where we will be learning a small part of their entwined history. We will look at how art has been used as a form of resistance to challenge society’s norms and ideas as well as being a driving force for change. We will end the talk with a creative exercise, so bring along whatever art supplies you may have lying around – the basics we recommend are paper and something to draw with, anything else is a bonus. We’d love to see some vibrant artwork!

Tilly Trinder, a non-binary, queer and disabled activist will be the facilitator of this session. They work part-time for Nova on their Social Change events and communications while being based in Devon. Tilly has a background in charity communications work and has worked with global organisations like UNICEF all the way down to smaller university campaigns such as Enough is Enough. In their spare time they can be found snuggling up with their cat and a good book!
