Natural History Museum: Nature Discovery Garden Time Capsule Workshop

To mark the opening of the new garden spaces at the Natural History Museum, the Learning and Volunteer teams at the museum are creating a time capsule which will be buried in the Nature Discovery Garden, to be dug up in thirty years’ time. The theme of the time capsule is ‘Hope’. What do we hope our spaces will look like in 30 years’ time and how will people live together with nature?

Join us for a special one-off workshop for the opportunity to contribute to the time capsule. Explore some local wildlife and ways to protect it, get hands-on with our specimens and science and decorate your own fabric patch depicting your hopes for a greener future. Your patches will be joined together into a larger communal work, which will be buried with the time capsule.

Age: 6-12

Meet at the venue at 15:00.

Location: Natural History Museum, Cromwell Rd, South Kensington, London SW7 5BD
