Lexi Cinema Summer Film School

The Lexi’s Summer Film School for young people is back – and this year we’re getting hands-on with live-action filmmaking. Over the week, we’ll watch and unpack four fearless coming-of-age stories, exploring the rebellions, joys, and self-discoveries of teens on the big screen. Through lively discussions and practical mini-workshops, we’ll delve into key aspects of the filmmaking process (from writing to acting, to visual storytelling), building to ‘Making a Scene’ of our very own. If you’re a young person who makes your own movies, enjoys being creative, or just loves the cinema – then this is the summer course for you!

MONDAY YOUNG HEARTS (12A, 2025 – NEW TO UK CINEMAS)
When new neighbour Alexander moves into his rural Belgian town, 14-year-old Elias learns to confront his feelings and embrace his true self.

Two best friends run away in search of freedom and belonging, on a dangerous journey that takes them from Britain to Syria.
