An Amazing Day Out at Banqueting House

Our friends at Historic Royal Palaces have invited families from Nova to takeover Banqueting House for their very first Amazing Day Out in West London.

The Banqueting House was built by King James I as event venue to hold theatre productions (called masques). Inspired by this history, you will be working with Toucan Theatre to create ‘a play in a day’.You will take part in creative activities, rehearse and present your own performance, all in the magnificent Royal venue!

This is about having fun, trying something new and living in the moment – together as a family and community.

There is no need to have prior arts or drama experience. Their teams will support you to have a go at trying something new – with everyone welcome to participate as much or as little as they are comfortable doing so.

Dietary Requirements – Snacks (crisps, fruit, biscuits) and drinks (tea, coffee, milk, juice) will be provided. Please bring your own sandwiches (or similar) for lunch.

Access requirements – Whilst they strive to make the  palaces accessible to all visitors, this Banqueting House is not fully accessible. Most activities will take place in the Main Hall, which is only accessible by stairs. The Banqueting House can be loud and echoing. Please feel free to bring ear defenders if loud noise/sound negatively affects you.

Meet outside Westminster tube station at 10:20.

Location: Banqueting House, Whitehall, London SW1A 2ER
