The King’s Gallery at Buckingham Palace

Edwardians: Age of Elegance

Art, fashion and objects from the 1860s to the 1910s

Join Nova for a special family visit to The King’s Gallery at Buckingham Palace this October half-term! This exclusive private tour will introduce young artists (and grown-ups!) to the magic of looking at and creating art.

Exploring this exhibition together, we will focus on the idea of celebrity – Have there always been famous celebrities, even a 100 or 150 years ago? Who do you think would get the most likes or subscribers now? Are they very different to glamorous celebrities today (or in our own past)? Are there similarities?

During the session we will:

  • Look closely at artworks and objects in a quiet environment  – talk about them together as a group, and be guided to look independently or as a family group
  • Quick-fire prompts to focus on one or two artworks, through drawing or making
  • Share ideas that are sparked by the exhibition – thoughts or memories about people, places and history
Age: 5+

Meet at Nova at 09:00 for a journey by bus or at the venue at 09:50.

Location: The King’s Gallery, Buckingham Palace, London SW1A 1AA

Please note: Families registered with Nova can book via the booking link which will be broadcast on Friday 17th October, so keep your eyes peeled for the WhatsApp message.
