Mars Orbital Lander at The Invention Rooms

An Invention Rooms workshop for families that allows you to explore science and get creative together.

When we have a problem, we need to design a solution to work around it! Learn how to navigate challenges in imaginative ways as we explore the process of design. Join Mike from the Invention Rooms and Imperial Alumni Natalie to discover how scientists use simple tools to crack big challenges, in this case how to catch items from space!

Natalie and Mike are trying to figure out how to resupply manned missions to Mars. But launching and landing rockets is very expensive! In this crafty session you’ll help to design and build a prototype model to catch ‘Expensive Gravitational Goods’ (or EGGs) from orbit without breaking! Can you learn to become a design expert and help our space scientists out?

Age: 7-11

Meet at the venue at 13:45: The Invention Rooms, Stadium House 68, Wood Lane W12 7TA (Tube: White City)
