Photography Storytelling Walk & Workshop

Do you have views about what makes a healthy environment for children? Are you interested in sharing them through photography and video?

We would love for you to join us at this afternoon workshop, where you will be working with your child alongside other families from Nova, to learn about how to tell stories through photography.

We will ask you to think about, and take photos of places and things within the community that are good or cause problems for children’s health. A photographer will work with you to help you think about how you get your views across through the pictures that you take. Your photos and explanations about why those issues are important will be created into a short video to help share your views with others. The video and photos will be used to help set the research priorities for the new Mohn Centre for Children’s Health and Wellbeing at Imperial College London and it will be shared on the Imperial college website.

The session will start with lunch provided and each family who takes part will receive a £25 voucher as a thank you for taking part.

Useful information:
• You can take part in this project even if you do not want you or your child’s image used in the video. We will be thinking about the places and things that impact children’s health so your pictures do not need to include you or other people.
• If you want to show your or your child’s image to be in the photos or video you will need to sign a consent form to say you are happy to do this.
• We will provide cameras for you to use during the workshop
• We will be going on a 30 minute walk around the local area to take pictures so please wear warm clothes
