What you will learn
This course is designed for those wanting to progress into accredited courses with the final aim of moving into employment of further study. As this is a non-accredited course, the primary goals of the course are building confidence in English language skills and enabling practice. Each class will include a number of activities targeted at different skills, grouped around a particular topic related to everyday life or the workplace. Extensive use will be made of audio recordings and reading texts to help set the scene for the topic and enable practice of receptive skills. Learners will be encouraged to discuss their reactions to and opinions about the topics we cover. Pronunciation practice is integrated into the lessons where appropriate. Grammar activities will be controlled and freer practice to consolidate grammar forms and structures in the form of role-plays and writing tasks such as work-related emails, CV and cover letters.
Target Group
Adults aged 19 and up with a good foundation in learning English, who want to improve and gain a certificate which will open doors to higher qualifications and develop career prospects.
